Acoustic Tracking System

Military-Grade ROV for Acoustic Tracking

The SRV-8X Optimus ATS (Acoustic Tracking System) is a field-tested underwater drone (ROV) designed to expertly detect pingers and transponders, enabling precise identification of underwater locations.

This drone uses advanced sonar to quietly locate submerged objects without giving away their position, making it perfect for operations requiring stealth and confidentiality.

The SRV-8X ATS is our standard ROV, upgraded with acoustic tracking accessories.

What’s Included

  • SRV-8X ROV — The SRV-8X ROV, equipped with standard components for optimal performance in underwater operations.
  • Acoustic Tracking System (ATS) — This specialized system detects pingers and transponders, allowing for accurate pinpointing of underwater locations.
  • 2D Multi-Beam Imaging Sonar — Advanced sonar technology designed to effectively detect and identify mine threats beneath the surface, providing enhanced situational awareness.

What is Acoustic Tracking?

Acoustic tracking underwater is the method of using sound waves to detect and follow the position of objects
or vehicles in a marine environment, enabling monitoring and navigation through acoustic signals.

Deploy the ROV to efficiently locate underwater assets such as AUVs, black boxes, or any other object equipped with a pinger (such as the ULB-362C Underwater Locator Beacon).

Why Use ROVs?

Using ROVs for acoustic tracking underwater offers precision, safety, and real-time data while
navigating tough conditions with minimal environmental effort.

How to us ROVs for Acoustic Tracking?

The SRV-8X ATS sends sound waves to communicate with underwater pingers and transponders. When the waves hit an object, they bounce back to the ROV, which detects the echoes. By analyzing them, the ROV finds underwater objects, helping operators navigate efficiently while keeping operations confidential.
